The startup was left without investment. $ 7.5 million stolen
CoinDash's Israeli crowdfunding campaign was stopped shortly after launch. An unknown hacker replaced the account for transfers with his own, and stole about $ 7.53 million.
Last night, the CoinDash team commented on what happened:
“Investors who sent ETH to the fake Ethereum address maliciously posted on our website will receive their tokens.”
Project representatives also warned users that sending ETH to the fraudster’s account after the campaign was closed would not be reimbursed. This hacking is somewhat reminiscent of a hacker attack last year on a project called DAO. We hope that this event will draw public attention to possible security issues in the financing of ICOs, in the context of rapidly growing popularity.
